You could choose to set up your notebook stacks by projects, by interests, by areas of your life, or even by relationship. For example, you could create a notebook stack called “Family.”

2. Use Tags

When you create a note in Evernote, you can assign it some descriptive tags. Tags in Evernote are how you will be able to find a set of related notes. Productivity experts suggest that you create 10-12 core tags, that you’ll use most frequently, and remember.

You will want to develop a habit of adding these tags to every note that you create.

Word of Caution: While tags are a very powerful tool, they can also quickly get out of hand. The problem is that just like notebooks, if you create too many you might actually be making it harder to find what you are looking for.

Rename Selected Notebook Change the title of the selected notebook. Mac: F2 Windows: F2

Focus on Tag Field of Active Note Sets the mouse cursor to the tag field for the note that is currently active to quickly add tags to your note. Mac: F3 Windows: F3
