Standardizing Medical Practice Using Text Blaze as a Family Doctor
Note: This GIF shows how to copy snippets to your dashboard so that you can use them and customize them to fit your needs.
My name is Marc-Antoine Turgeon, and I am a family doctor working in a teaching medical clinic.
Data is the king of healthcare models. We write notes all day and as family physicians, we are presented with a very large variety of cases every day.
Bureaucracy takes a very large part of our workload, but when surrounded by the right system and the right tool, it is possible to help us concentrate on our main job: taking care of patients.
My organization is a very large medical clinic associated with the nearby hospital. Including all regular staff and medical students, we are close to 80 people working in the clinic.
We use Text Blaze to:
Save time with assessments and notes.
Standardize practice and communications.
Create medical templates for any situation.
Accurate & Effective Note-Taking
One Text Blaze feature that is especially helpful is the formtoggle feature. I use it to help me evaluate patients and decide whether certain content is inserted in real-time.
This allows me to create dynamic templates that allow me to control what's going on in real-time.
The snippet below is an example of how Text Blaze can help medical professionals create templates for any situation:
Standardizing Practice With Dynamic Templates
Not everyone in a clinic will take notes the same way or perform assessments exactly the same way. Text Blaze helps us standardize our practice with templates that allow us to take notes and assessments the same way.
Text Blaze makes sure everyone in our clinic is on the same page and standardizing our care.
For example, here is a more advanced snippet that we use to take notes in more complex examinations:
Templates For Any Situation
Another useful feature of Text Blaze is the ability to read data and use it anywhere, which allows me to create templates for any situation.
For example, I use a Data Blaze space to help me manage lab data. Text Blaze allows you to dynamically read lab data from a spreadsheet and use it in my snippets to quickly take notes.
Here’s an example snippet that I use to do so.
Note: When you choose options from the drop-down menu, they appear in a list in your snippet so you can quickly list lab tests performed.
