What These Snippets Do
These snippets will create a nicely formatted invoice that can be sent to your customers when payment is due. They automatically create a table that contains the products being billed, and automatically totals all costs.
Once the invoice has been generated, a record of the invoice will be saved in a Data Blaze database automatically as well.
Invoices for Physical Goods
This snippet and Data Blaze space are meant for invoicing physical goods. It includes a fully customizable database to list your products, inventory, availability, and other details.
See it in Action
This gif demonstrates using the physical goods invoice snippet in a Google Doc invoice template. I've already prepared an invoice template, and will use the snippet to generate the line-items for the invoice.
Customize It
This snippet retrieves available products from a linked Data Blaze table.
To customize this to your needs, start adding your products to the linked Data Blaze table.
There are several other items that can be customized, too:
- Change the sales tax rate by updating the variable called salestax.
- Invoice due-dates are automatically 30 days from the invoice date. Change the shift setting in the duedate variable to customize this.
- A Description field is available in Data Blaze, but not included in the invoice generated. The description data can be added to the table that is generated.
Invoices for Subscriptions
The following snippet can be used to create invoices for products such as software subscriptions (SaaS). Select all the appropriate products to create a single invoice. Includes the ability to add subscription items and one-time charge items.

Customize It
Customizing this snippet is easy. Just update the names of the products available in the formmenus that appear at the top, in the notes section.
Keeping Track of Invoices
When these snippets are used to generate an invoice, a record of the invoice will be automatically logged into Data Blaze.
For the physical goods snippet, it will use the same space that contains the available products. There is a second table called "invoices issued" that will update automatically and can be used for tracking purposes.
For the subscription snippet, a standalone Data Blaze space is used to capture the invoice details generated by using the snippet.
Get Started
Click the "Copy to Text Blaze" button at the top of either of the snippet bundles above. This will copy both the Data Blaze space and the invoice creation snippet to your account.
